Storyboard

By Renae West

As a group we decided on our storyline on our short film, which was about 3 girls haunted by an old childhood friend. Our storyboard helped us identify which characters in what and where the location should be.  At first, I created the storyboard on a website to help draw up a rough copy of how to create the storyboard on paper to make sure everything is correct.

Then I drew out the storyboard I created online, on paper.

However, during the course of filming, my group and I realised that some scenes were unrealistic to film which meant that we had to change our whole storyline to something more realistic to film and find the appropriate locations for.

As a result, we changed our story line slightly.

Creating a storyboard is effective as it enabled our group to map out exactly where each shot was going to be filmed, how long we planned for each shot to be as well as what type of camera angles we wanted to incorporate within our film.
