Photoshoot Plans and Drafting

The writing at the top says "thrillingly spontaneous", it is written because this was one of the feedbacks we were given from the audience feedback. It links well because our short film is a thriller and it is spontaneous, leaving the viewers at the edge of their seats.

The skull mask from the female protagonist in the short film, it was used to hide her identity but will later be revealed if you watch the short film. We would edit it using photoshop to make the poster look more realistic.

Also at the top left corner we see a brand identity from "cutting east" company

The difference between a featured length film poster and a short film poster is that you do not write the actors name, because you are not promoting the actors as it is not a real movie, you only write the people who made the film on the poster and write when it will be released.

This was my second draft that I created before finalising our ideas into making the poster. As you can see from the image, the main skull is in white with a black silk background. This was created through photoshop as my skills had developed because the first draft was constructed on Microsoft Word. The black silk with smudges on the skull looks like cling film, which connotes within our film the enemy getting paralysed and trapped through the use of cling film.

I included a logo to show that my film was made and sponsored by cutting east film festival. Allowing us to have our own identity.
I used Photoshop in order to create the short film poster. In doing this I found an image of the protagonist's skull and then tried editing it. In doing so I tried making the skull look grainy and I used the smudge tool to make it look similar to another film poster that I got inspiration from.
I tried using a scary. gothic font so that it fits within the convention of our genre. I also used the colour red in the font as red symbolises danger and blood. This was included to express to my audience the type of things they may be expecting in our short film, without giving away too much.
The hidden identity gave me inspiration when producing the film poster.

This poster is based on the previous draft. I used photoshop to create a more developed draft, this was useful as it allowed me to see how the addition of colour and other more developed tools would compliment the film poster and allow ours to more closely resemble posters associated with the psychological thriller genre.

This also gave us a more realistics guide to base our poster on and allows us to see what aspects of the draft we could change and sections we could refine. It also helped develop skills and helped me get more familiar with photoshop.

This poster plan will be of one of the scenes in our short movie of the 3 girls in the forest saying 'ring a ring a roses'

To capture this shot, We would go to the forest in the evening when it's dark to give the poster a more sinister feeling so it relates to our movie genre.

This is my idea for the film poster.

I decided too do two different plans and ask my group which one they prefer.

This poster plan is of 4 shots from 4 different scenes in the movie combained. The reason why i choose to do this is because I wanted to give viewers an insight on what to look forward too during each part of the movie, without giving too much away.

However, I created these poster design will brainstorming our idea's for our movie.

During the start of filming, we noticed that a few of the scenes we wanted to film was unrealistic due to the location and the times we wanted to film which meant that we had to change our whole script. This meant, we had to create all new film poster designs.
